Nevertheless She Persisted

Every turn I take, something seems to want to get the best of me. But I won’t let it…..

This past year has been one challenge after the next. Yet, I continue to believe strongly that I will rise above all the obstacles I have faced (and continue to face), and will come out of this with a new perspective, confidence in myself, and the strength and resolve to continue making an impact in the world around me.

Many of you know I was diagnosed with a brain tumor a little over a year ago, and had surgery to remove it last August. The recovery has been longer than I wanted, but I really can’t complain, as I feel blessed beyond belief to be surrounded by the most supportive friends and family I can imagine, and have made almost a full recovery.

However, my WORLD WAS SHOOK yet again back in June (right after this picture was taken).

During a routine check-up for my tumor, we discovered I had developed Multiple Sclerosis.

It took a while to confirm the diagnosis, and some of the tests left me bedridden for a good length of time (almost two weeks), but I finally feel like I am recovered from the tests, and am making my way back to good health. Thank you to everyone who has helped me and supported me during this time!

One day at a time.

I can do this.

I may be slower than I used to be, with a little less energy, but I will still accomplish the things I want in life. Life may throw obstacles at me, one after the next, but I know it is because I can handle it, learn lessons from the challenges, and help others along the way.

Today’s motto: Nevertheless, she persisted.
