What an amazing day! I loved almost every part of the day today!
We woke up and had a great breakfast of fruit (chose a few new ones today), and got dressed to start the day. I knew the day would be long and busy, so I dressed for the activities later in the afternoon (meaning I wore a nice dress all day). Our first stop was to go to Rhys’ (9) marimba concert at the Saturday Market! It was a gorgeous day, and the kids had so much fun. It was amazing to watch them play.
After the concert, we helped load the instruments in the van, and thought I would get the kids some food. The food carts smelled so good, and I was starting to feel very lightheaded. I was really starting to not feel well, and needed something of more substance (other than the leftover salad I had from yesterday). In conversation with Cory (husband), we were talking about how the lack of grains was really taking its toll on us. He finally said that I needed to eat some grains or else we might end up in a divorce before the end of the day (I admit my mood has been very altered without grains this week). Since I had access to some amazing/healthy food at the Saturday Market, I ended up getting steamed brown rice, with steamed veggies, topped with liquid aminos (so glad I had access to healthy food in my moment of weakness). The lady was so confused as to why I didn’t want any sauce (no really, I didn’t want anything on it), or the chicken, but I finally was able to get what I wanted. Cory decided to get a salad with black beans on it, to give him some grains too. Both meals were “off-book” but still used food that were approved (if you account for the optional grain snacks, well, maybe not Cory’s beans). We felt SO MUCH better after that. After eating, I left to drop Elliott (17) off early for her graduation, while Cory took Rhys to his baseball game.
After dropping off Elliott for rehearsal, I went to Rhys’ game to watch and keep score (after buying an orchid lay for Elliott for graduation). My sister met us at the game, as well as my parents. Rhys did amazing at pitching again. I love watching him enjoy playing the sport! I had to leave the game early to pick up my sister’s ticket to graduation (she had left it at home). As I was driving to the graduation ceremony, Cory called me because I had taken the keys to his car with me. Yikes!! I rushed back the field, and had to high-tail it across town to make it to Elliott’s graduation in time. Amazingly, we made it – just in time to put the orchid lay on Elliott before she walked into the auditorium.
The graduation ceremony went well. It was hot and crowded, so we stood in the doorway to watch. I am so incredibly proud of her!!! I like to give her a hard time, and criticize her more than I should, but she really is an amazing young woman, and I so proud of the person she is becoming.
After the ceremony, we let her catch up with friends, until we left to bring my sister back home. Then we made a quick stop by home, before taking Elliott to a friend’s graduation party. Then I headed home to make dinner……finally. We ended up eating late (9:30pm), but I really enjoyed the dinner. I only ended up eating half the potato, as I was getting full, but everything was delicious. The meal had called for Asian veggies, but I cooked ours in the sesame and coconut oil (our favorite!). After Elliott was done at the party, we finally made it back home around 10:30-11:00pm, and I was so ready for bed!
ONLY ONE MORE DAY LEFT!
