For those of you who don’t know, I had a brain surgery almost four weeks ago to remove a tumor. Many people would focus on the negative aspects of this event, and just as many are surprised at my positivity regarding the situation. The reality is, I don’t feel like there is another choice, other than to be positive. Negativity will not get me anywhere, and I can only heal by being positive.

Our attitudes, and the way we respond/react to things that happen to us, are a few of the only things that we really have control over in our lives. We can choose to be a victim of circumstances, or we can choose make the best of the circumstances, learn from them, and take control over how we react and feel. Far too often I talk to people who feel like things are out of their control, like too many bad things happen to them. I’ve had my share of tough times. We all do. However, I choose to work through the struggles, and carry on with my life in the best way I know how.

Lessons I’ve learned in the past month:
πŸ’š It is good to slow down in life, and enjoy the simple things.
πŸ’š I am finding more balance between rest and work.
πŸ’š I am building stronger relationships with the people around me.
πŸ’š I am learning not to push myself too hard.
πŸ’š I am thankful for finding out about my tumor the way I did, having a supportive family to help me heal, and having top notch medical care.
πŸ’š I am truly appreciating the small pleasures in life.
πŸ’š I am able to empathize with my clients and patients more.
πŸ’š I am learning what it is like to make small improvements on a daily basis.
