ASK YOURSELF THIS:
What would happen to your family if you or your spouse were to get sick or injured?
Would you be able to continue working?
Would you be able to support your family?
How many of you have ever even thought about that?
Does your job (or your spouse’s job) require you to be able-bodied and completely healthy?
HEAR ME OUT:
Ten months ago, I underwent brain surgery, which knocked me out of my normal existence for quite a while. Thankfully, I had husband who was still working. However, I still haven’t been able to return to work in full capacity, and had to quit a portion of my job last fall, because I just wasn’t able to physically handle the workload. I am so thankful I had another source of income (my online fitness business) coming in to pick up the slack. In fact, it INCREASED during this time, as I had more time to devote to my online clients.
Just last month, I have found out that I am losing another portion of my job at the college, and my income will be going down again – all because of budget cuts. However, I am still PROTECTED, because teaching is not my only source of income. I will actually have more time to build my business, and now can still have the financial freedom to do what I want to do with my family because I don’t have all my eggs in one basket. My family’s lifestyle does not have to change.
I have a friend who is a Personal Trainer, who injured her back a few week ago, and her income from training and teaching classes went to ZERO because she is laid up in bed, not able to move. However, her income from her online fitness business has INCREASED because she is still able to keep in contact with her online clients.
Do YOU have DIVERSITY in your income? If you lost your job, do you still have other income to help you out? Does you work allow you to fit it into your family’s LIFESTYLE, without taking you away from the kids all day, or making you pay daycare?
Think about it…..
