No one has it all together.
Let me repeat that…..loudly for the people in the back.
NO ONE HAS IT ALL TOGETHER!!
If they ever claim they do, they are LYING! Throw some water on them, because their pants are obviously on fire.
We can be a powerhouse at work, but that often comes at the price of time with our family. We can be mom-of-the-year, but then we are probably not excelling in our business.
I am often asked questions like, “Jenni, how do you do it all, with how busy you are?”
Simple. I don’t clean my house. Like pretty much never.
Something has to “go” in my life, and I’ve chosen that to be a clean and tidy house. With two dogs, two young boys, a parrot, a bearded dragon, and a variety of outdoor sports that we do, cleaning would be a full-time, continual job. Who has time for that?!? Especially with everything else I do….
DISCLAIMER: My house isn’t a pig-sty (well sometimes it can get bad), but there is always guaranteed dog hair on the floor, probably a dish or two in the sink, clutter and stacks all around (mostly books, papers, and kids toys), and the boys clean the bathroom and dust, so you never know what you’re going to get with that.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love walking into a clean house, and I love when others put pride into their own homes, and keep them nice and clean; that’s just not for me.
My main point is to tell you that YOU DON’T HAVE TO HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER either. Stop stressing, trying to make it all happen perfectly. You can’t make it all perfect. You can simply do the best you can with your own predetermined priorities, and let go of the rest of that!
What do you let go of (or need to let go of)?
PS – if you’re ever wondering what to get me as a gift, maid service is always a good choice.
