And so begins Phase 3: Restore. This week is about restoring our digestives system. Our supplements are changing this week. Instead of the detox mix that I have grown to love, we are doing Revitalize capsules at the three meals (along with the Optimize), Soothe at dinner still, and the horrendous Power Greens around snack time. I saw horrendous, but really I am not finding them bad at all anymore. I can drink them with out any issues, but I would never say that I “like” them.
With the advent of the new week, I thought I would check my weight progress. I weighed in at 138 pounds, which means I pretty much maintained over the past week. It would be nice to see the weight drop a little, but I really can’t complain, as I feel excellent! I am loving the vegan lifestyle, and am reaching the time where I need to decide what I am going to do after the Reset is over. I have been wanting to go vegan for a long time, and maybe now is the time. I do miss cheese, though. I also miss working out. So, I need to decide what I want to do for an exercise program once we finish. I’ll put more thought into those things later.
Cory didn’t weigh himself this week, but he is still reporting in that he feels excellent, and hasn’t had any digestive issues since we began (which is amazing for him). He really wants to continue this eating lifestyle, but recognizes that he needs a little more energy to maintain normal activity since he starts exercising again. We need to put some thought into how to incorporate these eating habits, yet still be able to increase the calories to meet his needs (and probably mine too).
This also begins a VERY busy time for us as a family, and for me. We are in finals week at the colleges, and both my husband and I have several classes that we need to finish up. It is also the end of the year, and I need to make sure graduation is all taken care of for my students, and that I complete Exit Interviews with all 40+ of my students. Needless-to-say, I have a stressful week ahead of me. However, I will survive.
I decided to mix breakfast up a little, and changed the fruits some. The cherries were an excellent addition, and I enjoyed them very much. The cantaloupe wasn’t ripe enough, so that was a little disappointing. The salad for lunch was delicious, and I really like the creamy garlic dressing. I will definitely use this recipe in the future. I had a grading session that kept me at work late today, so I ended up eating a snack (watermelon) that was brought. It was nice that there was something there that I could eat, but it did give me an additional serving of fruit that I probably shouldn’t have had. Then it was off to a baseball game.
Both Rhys (9) and Keenan (7) had games at the same time, so I watched Keenan play, and Cory watched Rhys play (he also helps coach some). Cory kept updating me, as Rhys was pitching for the first time. He did excellent, and ended up striking out 9 people! We were all so proud!
That left dinner for very late, since we didn’t get home until 7:30pm, and we didn’t even really have enough food for an appropriate dinner. So, Elliott watched the boys and fed them a quick dinner while Cory and I ran to the grocery store to grab a few essentials. Finally, around 9:30 we were eating (Cory and I). The squash and green beans were good, but I was really craving chips and salsa (I’m sure that was mainly because of the too long of wait between meals). Good thing I had willpower! As a side note, I most proud today that I remembered to take pictures of all my meals. That has been a huge struggle for me lately. I feel accomplished!
Overall, a successful start to Week 3!
