Day 1 (21)

I finally did something today that I’ve needed to do for WEEKS. I went and had my tire fixed! It has had a nail in it, but I haven’t even had a spare minute to try and fix it for the past several weeks (well, I tried twice a few weeks ago, but they couldn’t get me finished in time before I needed to teach). While I was waiting, I finished an end of the year report that was overdue. That felt so great to finish!! I am not always behind on everything, but this is definitely the busiest time of the year for me, with everything cumulating all at once.

Today was slammed with a division council meeting, and more exit interviews, followed up by proctoring my last final of the year. After the final, my teaching team all went out for drinks to celebrate the end of the year. I didn’t have any issue foregoing the drinks, but man was I HUNGRY. I tried so hard to find something on the menu that I could eat, but Cory told me that sweet potato fries were not the same as a baked sweet potato (the nerve of some people!). So, I was “happy” to sip on my water.

Lunch was the normal salad I’ve been eating for the past several weeks, but I used the vinaigrette dressing this time, and I really liked it. I like vinegar things, but usually find vinaigrette dressings don’t quite cut it for me on salads. I am really curious if this dressing was just better than others, or if my tastes have just changed that much during this process.

I didn’t make the planned dinner for tonight, as I was in a hurry, but everything was comparable so I am still considering myself 100% on the plan. I will admit I broke down and bought a pizza for the kids for dinner. Man were they excited! Although, I did notice they didn’t eat as much as they normally would. Then it was off to a softball game for me. It was raining and cold, but the game was fun regardless. The game didn’t end until 10:15pm, and I was happy to see Cory showed up right at the end (he had been working tonight). We ended up going grocery shopping to pick up some main essentials for the next couple of days (or else we wouldn’t have fruit for breakfast for tomorrow).

I will note that I think it is obvious that the food is less this week. I have been feeling a little shaking/lightheaded, and have been hungry for the first time (it is exacerbated by me not including snacks and going too long between meals). I also am under quite a bit of stress right now, and noticed my heart rate was significantly elevated all throughout today. Cory and I are obviously grumpy, as we ended up arguing tonight. I am positive that it was influenced by low glucose levels, but I don’t think either of us will admit that too each other at this point….

Only three more days to go!
